About The Position

Program Manager specializing in material replacement for Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS). Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction. Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, materials, processes and approaches. Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products. Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience, preferably in propulsion or propulsion materials.
  • Graduate degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of materials and in-depth knowledge of project management.
  • Government or industry experience in propulsion
  • Material Obsolescence and Supply Chain risk management
  • PMP certification

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with customers, suppliers, engineering teams and production program managers to develop solutions for material obsolescence.
  • Manages all phases of the project management cycle for material replacement initiatives.
  • Works with supply chain resources to ensure adequate inventory of materials to support material replacement timelines.
  • Communicates with leadership regarding matters of importance to the business area.
  • Problems span a wide range of difficult and unique issues across the business area.
