About The Position

Kern Regional Center is one of 21 private, non-profit regional centers contracted by the State of California through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to coordinate community-based services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Kern Regional Center services over 10,000 individuals in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties. Our counties cover approximately 22,000 square miles with a population of over 945,000 people. Kern Regional Center is looking for dedicated a dedicated Program Manager who is ready for the next challenge. Program Managers will supervise, assign, schedule, coordinate, and evaluate a group of Service Coordinators, Service Coordinator Specialists, and other assigned agency personnel. A Program Manager will also participate in the overall plan for providing quality client services and in the development and implementation of administrative and program policies. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality client services through effective planning, staff oversight, and the implementation of administrative and program policies. Key responsibilities include supervising, training, and evaluating personnel, overseeing case management practices, maintaining communication across departments, ensuring compliance with legal and policy standards, and serving as a resource for services related to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas: social work, psychology or closely related field from an accredited university with four years of increasingly responsible experience preferably in programs serving the developmentally disabled to ensure a thorough understanding and knowledge of the developmental model.
  • Bilingual language fluency (Spanish/English) highly desirable has two years of administrative assistant experience.
  • is detailed-oriented and highly organized.
  • has strong overall computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, as well as industry specific.
  • has strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Provide timely and responsive customer service, communicating with others respectfully and effectively in person, on the phone, by email or in writing.
  • must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities
