About The Position

Responsible for planning and overseeing projects from the initial ideation through to completion. Coordinate people and processes to deliver projects on time, within budget, and with the desired outcomes aligned to objectives. The Program Manager for the Research Grants Program is a pivotal role responsible for the overall management and administration of the grants program. This includes overseeing the application process, ensuring compliance with funding guidelines, facilitating the review process, and providing ongoing support to grant recipients. The Program Manager must have a track record of securing funds. The Program Manager will work closely with researchers, funding bodies, and other stakeholders to advance the program's objectives and promote impactful research projects.

  • Master's degree required in a relevant field such as Public Administration, Business Administration, STEM or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, grants administration, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful grant writing and securing funds is essential.
  • During the probation period, the Program Manager must be available to work on-site at the office.
  • Flexibility to transition to hybrid work arrangements following the probation period.
  • Willingness to participate in professional development activities to stay current on grant regulations, best practices, and emerging trends in research funding.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of the grant process, including application, review, award, monitoring, and reporting phases.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant activities and ensure compliance with funding guidelines.
  • Coordinate the call for proposals, ensuring wide dissemination to potential applicants.
  • Organize and oversee the peer review process, including the selection of reviewers and the coordination of review meetings.
  • Communicate review outcomes to applicants and provide constructive feedback.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Grant Specialists to ensure adherence to the established work plan.
  • Monitor the progress of funded projects through regular communication with grant recipients.
  • Ensure that grant recipients comply with reporting requirements and project timelines.
  • Facilitate the resolution of any issues or challenges encountered by grant recipients.
  • Review and approve financial and progress reports submitted by grant recipients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with funding bodies, research institutions, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the Research Grants Program at relevant meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify opportunities for program improvement and growth.
  • Represent the program in public forums and deliver presentations. Public speaking is a must.
  • Ensure compliance with grant agreements, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and submit interim and final grant reports, including financial reports and programmatic updates.
  • Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of funded projects.
  • Prepare and present program reports to senior management and funding bodies.
  • Identify and document best practices and lessons learned to inform future program development.
  • Identify relevant grant opportunities from various funding sources, including government agencies, private foundations, and corporate entities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary information and data for grant proposals.
  • Write and prepare compelling and comprehensive grant proposals, ensuring alignment with the funder's guidelines and priorities.
  • Develop detailed project budgets and timelines to accompany grant proposals.
  • Lead a comprehensive capacity-building initiative encompassing the identification and orchestration of training and certification programs, outreach endeavors, and collaboration with nonprofits, universities, and other stakeholders keen on enhancing their proficiency in all aspects of the grant cycle.
  • Collaborate closely with the RGP Team to identify resources capable of developing and delivering training programs, workshops, and seminars tailored to researchers and research administrators within the scope of grants.
