Position Summary The Program Manager is responsible for maintaining comprehensive quality program delivery as well as supervising and assisting locations in their daily responsibilities. This position requires a highly motivated individual experienced in program support, management, and leadership. The Program Manager will have considerable contact with family, government, and professional services. A Program Manager is an extroverted multitasker, who works well under pressure, and displays leadership by motivating others. A requirement of the role is participation in an on-call rotation. Work Hours: Full Time Monday to Friday Must be able to flex work hours based on position needs On-call rotation with additional remuneration (average of $1,800 per year)

Requirements

  • University degree in a related discipline and/or Certificate in Community and Disability Support with a minimum of five years related leadership, management experience and/or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Full Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License with access to a vehicle for employment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and ShareVision/CRM system.
  • Sound knowledge of intellectual disabilities and experience working in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and mentorship to the Location Supervisors to encourage growth and development within DASCH.
  • Attend position related meetings as required (including, but not limited to Person Centered Plans, financial, licensing, medical/psychiatric etc.)
  • Review and evaluate activity plans of the people we support monthly to allow for consistent community inclusion of the people we support.
  • Remain fiscally responsible for all location budgets by remaining aware of each location’s financials reporting.
  • Work in liaison with other internal departments.
  • Where required, assist with reviewing applications and referrals for new people we support including location tours.
  • Maintain Programming Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Be involved in and aware of each locations needs by conducting regular house reviews and attending staff meetings.
  • Complete and document necessary information regarding scheduled overnight safety checks.
  • Review location and staff licensing standards regularly to meet government licensing standards.
  • Ensure responsible management and adherence to location and discretionary budget guidelines.
  • Complete financial quality reviews of the people we support as required for each person to allow for their budget to be utilized strategically.
  • Keep support networks informed regarding individual care and assist in problem resolution where required.
  • Keep other professional parties (government, case workers, etc.) informed regarding incidents and issues of the people we support and assist in problem resolution where required.
  • Review Incident Reports regularly to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Meet on-call phone support requirements as directed by your supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance to DASCH policies, licensing and employment standards.
  • Provide leadership to create a respectful working environment conducive to effective working relationships.
  • Apply conflict resolution skills to successfully mediate workplace conflict issues.
  • Ensure safety compliance, safe working conditions, safe procedures and practices and adherence to them as set out in The Workplace Safety and Health Act.
  • Identify and execute performance management as required with Location Supervisors to provide the opportunity for growth and development with DASCH.
  • Participate in the preparation and execution of performance appraisals, annually and as required in conjunction with any other required parties.
  • Conduct meetings with Location Supervisors monthly to ensure communication is made regarding changes and reminders.
