About The Position

Merrick & Company's Nuclear Services & Technology team provides full service nuclear design solutions to the federal government (DOE, NNSA and NIST), nuclear research, nuclear medicine, and the commercial nuclear power industries. Merrick is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual to serve as a Program Manager to support our operations in Aiken, SC. Merrick has some very exciting projects including design of specialty equipment for the National Nuclear Security Administration and Department of Energy. With our success in winning some large, complex, and exciting projects, we need a strong Program Manager accustomed to a regulated work environment with discipline, ingenuity, motivation and skills to lead a multi-disciplined team of engineers and designers. Merrick is seeking candidates who have technical and project management experience with design and construction of nuclear/hazardous facility systems, structures and components with an emphasis on confinement of radioactive and other hazardous materials. Annual salary range for this position is $153,500 – $198,700.

Requirements

  • Twenty (20) plus years’ experience working in the design and engineering of nuclear and non-nuclear facilities and infrastructure systems for the US Department of Energy (including the National Nuclear Security Administration), or the US. Department of Defense (USACE or NAVFAC).
  • Experience with supervising engineers and designers
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Scheduling Software (e.g. MS Office, Primavera)
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
  • Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Sciences in Engineering from ABET Accredited Program.
  • Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide the A-E services for maintaining and building the nuclear and non-nuclear infrastructure (buildings, facilities, roads, water, wastewater, waste management, and utilities) that provides the foundation for the mission activities of SRS.
  • Manage day-to-day program operations across all architectural and engineering disciplines.
  • Develop and maintain program plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate activities among design, engineering, and construction/fabrication teams.
  • Track, report, and communicate program progress.
  • Serve as primary point of contact between clients, design teams, consultants, and permitting authorities.
  • Support contract negotiations and consultant coordination.
  • Implement and refine program management processes to improve efficiency.
