About The Position

The Workplace Violence Prevention and Investigation Program Manager ensures a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors across Valley Health facilities. This role leads workplace violence prevention initiatives, conducts investigations into security-related incidents, and collaborates with internal teams and external agencies to mitigate risks and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of (5) years of experience in public safety, law enforcement, or healthcare security is required.
  • Minimum of (2) years of investigative experience is required.
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, Joint Commission, CMS standards related to workplace violence.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and training facilitation abilities.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Leadership, strategic thinking, and crisis management skills.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Healthcare Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • (2) years of experience in workplace violence prevention or program management is preferred.
  • Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) or similar credential is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into security-related incidents (e.g., workplace violence, theft, patient safety concerns). Collect and analyze evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare detailed reports. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed.
  • Develop and manage the Workplace Violence Prevention Program in compliance with OSHA and accreditation standards. Perform risk assessments and vulnerability analyses. Coordinate and deliver staff training on de-escalation and threat recognition. Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Partner with HR, Legal, Risk Management, and clinical leadership to address safety concerns. Serve as subject matter expert during regulatory inspections and accreditation reviews.
  • Build community partnerships to enhance public safety initiatives.
  • Patrol facilities and respond to emergencies (e.g., fire alarms, active shooter, infant abduction). Assist with combative patients, trespassing, and property security.
  • Monitor safety systems (cameras, alarms) and conduct routine inspections. Provide escorts, respond to calls for service, and maintain professional customer service.
