The Professional Development and Assessment Program Manager at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is a pivotal role responsible for the creation and implementation of a comprehensive training and professional development program tailored for the UTA academic advising community. This position ensures that academic advisors are equipped with the necessary tools and training to achieve excellence in advising. The Program Manager will design, implement, and manage assessment initiatives within the academic advising community, which includes basic data support functions. This role is crucial in aligning academic advising services with institutional goals and enhancing student success outcomes. The Program Manager will collaborate with academic colleges, the advising community, and key campus partners to develop and maintain an onboarding and continuing training curriculum for academic advisors. This includes the implementation of an advisor certification program and coordination of training for technology platforms that support the advising community. The Program Manager will also facilitate professional development sessions, both in-person and online, and manage data collection and reporting for training and professional development. In addition to training responsibilities, the Program Manager will develop and maintain a comprehensive assessment plan for the academic advising program. This involves collaborating with academic advising staff and faculty to identify assessment goals, creating assessment tools, and analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement. The Program Manager will prepare and present regular reports on assessment findings to advising staff and faculty, utilizing student feedback to recommend adjustments to the advising program. The role also includes overseeing the planning of key events for the Maverick Advising Community, such as the opening breakfast and annual advising awards. The Program Manager will manage communication and programming to support the advising community, including managing the University Academic Advising Committee meeting processes and maintaining an updated list of advisors. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the academic advising experience at UTA and ensuring that advisors are well-prepared to support student success.
