Viasat Government - Secure Network Systems (SNS) is seeking an experienced program manager to join the leadership team of our growing high-assurance encryption business. You will lead a multifunctional team to take a new government encryption appliance into volume production. This role requires expertise in managing complex programs, coordinating diverse engineering teams, mitigating risks, and fostering strong customer and supplier relationships while ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion. The successful candidate will have experience working with diverse engineering teams, including design engineering, production test, new product introduction, supply chain, operations, quality, logistics, DFx, reliability, components engineering, and industrial engineering. The candidate will proactively manage risks, meet aggressive commitments, and resolve difficult challenges. This position requires strong leadership, motivation, and communication to successfully direct multi-functional teams spanning multiple organizations and geographic locations.

  • Manage program communications internally to teams and externally to customers
  • Monitor and assess customer satisfaction, quality and profitability
  • Monitor and manage the program level milestones, risks, issues, and decisions
  • 10+ years of experience in Program Management or Operations Management including bringing new products into production and working with multi-functional teams
  • Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors as an integral part of the role
  • Extensive problem-solving skills, and ability to drive resolutions to a close
  • Organization skills to manage multiple facets of a large-scale project and to track progress for multiple program tracks at once
  • Demonstrated experience executing US Government programs
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal); ability to interact with all levels in the organization
  • Knowledge of EVMS practices
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • US Government position; US citizenship required
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain when administratively feasible
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Experience with embedded microprocessor based systems, network communication systems, government communications systems, or encryption systems
  • Experience with electronics manufacturing including surface mount technology, unit assembly, environmental stress screening, and production test equipment
  • Knowledge and experience with project management methodologies and best practices such as PMP
  • Experience with leading and writing Government proposals
  • Experience with encryption devices and certification processes
