About The Position

Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates functions and initiatives for the targeted expansion of the School of Nursing. The Program Manager, Nursing Clinical Sites is responsible for fostering positive relations and developing new partnerships with clinical sites, coordinating an effective the clinical schedule, serving as a liaison between the Nursing division and clinical partners, as well as coordinating a companion simulation lab schedule and experiences.

Requirements

  • The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of directly related experience in Nursing program coordinator/management. Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the equivalent qualifications for this position.

  • Current, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license as applicable.
  • May require a valid driver license

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with clinical agency management and staff. Secures additional clinical sites for nursing and health programs. Maintains policies and procedures specific to each clinical site. Serves as the main point of contact and liaison between the division and the clinical partners.
  • Provides analyses and recommendations, in collaboration with the Associate Dean/Director of Nursing and Health Program Directors or their designees, on plans and strategies to meet established programmatic growth targets including the preparation of a master clinical schedule to support faculty clinical coordinators in the placement of students at clinical sites.
  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with external stakeholders, proactively addressing their needs and concerns, to meet established growth targets for the School of Nursing. Collaborates with community partners to identify new placement opportunities, negotiates agreements, and establishes mutually beneficial partnerships. Serves as the key liaison and primary point of contact for all community partners, including healthcare agencies, hospitals, clinics, and other relevant organizations.
  • Serves as a representative of the School of Nursing, promoting its reputation and fostering collaboration with external organizations. Engages in proactive and timely communication with external stakeholders, responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and nurturing positive relationships.
  • Coordinates clinical orientation for faculty and students according to clinical partner requirements. Monitors nursing and health programs faculty compliance with credentials, background, drug screen, and required health screenings and immunizations. Attends and participates in all new nursing and health programs student orientations. Collaborates with the nursing administrative staff to ensure student clearance for student placement. Collaborates with staff to review clinical affiliation agreements/contracts for accuracy and currency and reports to Associate Dean/Director of Nursing and Health Programs for recommended changes.
  • Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates the performance of assigned program staff; sets goals and priorities for assigned staff; recommends personnel actions as appropriate; Fosters effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including faculty, advisors, and other staff members.
  • Assists the Associate Dean/Director of Nursing and Health Program Directors in identifying equipment and technology needs that are currently used in local health agencies. Maintains currency of knowledge in health education by attending state and national meetings as well as staying abreast of pertinent legislation and emerging trends in the healthcare and nursing related fields.
  • Collaborates with faculty to ensure that the student skills list is consistent with lab procedures appropriate to students' scope of practice and in alignment with clinical agency protocols. Collaborates with faculty and lab support staff to coordinate simulation schedule and experiences in the event of changes to clinical site availability.
  • Represents the School of Nursing in meetings, conferences, Magnet designations, and community events to promote the program. Attends Nursing and Health Consortium and Program Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Assists in student recruitment efforts meeting established targets to expand access to affordable nursing and healthcare credentials while addressing regional nursing shortages as directed by the Associate Dean/Director of Nursing. Assists the Associate Dean/Director of Nursing and Health Program Directors by recruiting adjunct faculty in the clinical setting. Serves as a member on the nursing admissions committee.
  • Facilitates regular meetings and discussions to share updates, gather feedback, and ensure alignment between?clinical?placement processes and academic requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned that support the objective of the position.
