About The Position

The Program Manager II supports the Executive Director/Chairman of the program and manages the activities and functions of a large or complex program or multiple programs to ensure the goals and objectives specified for the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. The program provides a specific service or carries out specific activities as a separate entity or as a component program within a department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • 5 years of experience required.
  • Full and extensive proficiency in Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Complex formula construction, dashboards, charts), PowerPoint, Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines and manage changing priorities
  • Ability to translate clinical questions into appropriate queries
  • Experience with meeting minutes, spreadsheets, document organization, and electronic filing
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills, interpersonal skills, poise, tact, and diplomacy

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience/exposure to Tableau, REDCap
  • Previous experience with clinical research, Institutional Review Board submissions, and related preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages the activities of subordinates and consultants and provides leadership and direction for staff, if applicable, setting an effective agenda to ensure that performance goals are met
  • Develops and independently implements new or revised program goals, strategies and objectives to sustain and grow programs and services
  • Develops and schedules a program work plan in accordance with specifications, objectives and funding limitations; oversees daily operations and coordinates program activities through assigned staff; prioritizes and delegates work activities
  • Maintains liaison with staff in other departments to coordinate program activities and training; to accomplish program objectives; and to ensure cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized
  • Administers program procedures and systems. Ensures information is disseminated to staff regarding program and Mount Sinai Medical Center’s policies and procedures
  • Confers with and advises staff and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals and policy interpretations; refers to appropriate department or person when unable to respond
  • Takes an active role in developing the program budgets and grants. May monitor, verify and oversee the reconciliation of budget expenditures
  • Hires program staff, is responsible for performance appraisal evaluations, promotions, transfers and other personnel transactions, oversite of research grants and related, as assigned
  • May collaborate with program leadership to prepares proposals for corporate and foundation funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors/donor
  • May perform needs assessment and analyzes and studies participant, member and community needs for basis of program development
  • Design and prepare engaging and interactive presentations with compelling content that effectively communicates information to internal and external audiences in the most dynamic way possible
  • Create and edit PowerPoint presentations
  • Prepare reports, manuscripts, grant applications, etc., as assigned
  • Maintain all Quality documents, and other relevant and related activities
  • Clean, validate, collect, analyze and visualize data, as assigned
  • Will participate in all activities related to the Quality program including but not limited to coordination of meetings, creating agenda and minutes, coordination of initiatives and scheduled events for program
  • Provide assistance to staff in assigned areas to ensure program objectives are accomplished
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Oversees all grant and research activities for System Vice Chair, Quality and Clinical Transformation
  • Develops and submits Institutional Review Board packages, as assigned
  • Regularly meets with internal and external stakeholders, as required
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness; demonstrates continuous efforts to improve support operations and systems, to streamline work processes and to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the program
  • Experience/Interest in qualitative data collection and analysis
  • Perform other duties as assigned
