As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines. In this role, you will be a key contributor to continuous improvement across Google's EHS operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams within Google data center departments and contractors to identify and address EHS concerns, risk identification and mitigation. You ensure the safety of the operations workforce, protection of the environment, and Google’s business. Furthermore, you will provide support with the implementation of new and critical EHS initiatives. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in EHS program or project management.
  • 2 years of experience in EHS management systems or experience managing EHS compliance with environmental programs (e.g., emissions, wastewater, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Credentials or certifications from Board of Certified Safety Professionals, NEBOSH, or equivalent agency.
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with data center or electrical safety.
  • Experience communicating with AHJs (e.g., federal, state, and local authorities) for notifications and permit conformance.
  • Ability to advise, coach, influence, and collaborate with employees to achieve positive EHS outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of EHS programs, which may extend beyond your immediate team, driving impactful operational and technical improvements.
  • Anticipate issues, propose solutions, and identify needs to develop or improve EHS operations tools/processes. Evaluate incident data and track corrective actions.
  • Evaluate EHS impact during data center design reviews, equipment, and process changes. Perform EHS risk evaluations and define process controls for new processes.
  • Ensure comprehensive Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) compliance, manage permits/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Provide site ownership and drive EHS turn-up of new locations with little supervision, demonstrating complete campus EHS ownership.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, managing dependencies. Own site-based EHS decision-making and serve as a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in multiple EHS verticals.
