About The Position

This position oversees hiring and onboarding of surveyor staff, monitors workforce changes, and ensures smooth operations across the Section. Beyond recruitment, you’ll actively contribute to quality assurance and improvement initiatives, participate in CMS and AHFSA meetings, and stay current with federal requirements. You’ll also manage licensure activities, including nursing home rule actions, license renewals, and compliance oversight. As a leader, you’ll supervise two administrative specialists and collaborate with management during emergencies, respond to inquiries from key stakeholders, and assist with training and audits. This is a high-impact role for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, regulatory environment.

Requirements

  • Must have passed the Surveyor Minimum Qualification Test.
  • Thorough operational and regulatory knowledge related to nursing homes.
  • Skilled in managing a staff of professionals and support positions to achieve Section goals.
  • Skilled in analyses and evaluation of Section performance.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five (5) years of experience in the program area of assignment, including two years of supervisory program experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
