Section Chief of Headache Medicine Department of NeurologyDartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center | Lebanon, New Hampshire Lead the Future of Headache Medicine at a Premier Academic Medical Center The Department of Neurology at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is entering an exciting new phase of growth and innovation in Headache Medicine. With the recent addition of two new headache physicians, the department is seeking a visionary and collaborative leader to serve as Section Chief of Headache Medicine and help take this expanding program to the next level. This is a rare opportunity to shape the clinical, academic, and research direction of a growing Headache Medicine program within a Tier 1 academic medical center and an integrated health system deeply committed to excellence, discovery, and education. A Leadership Role With Real Impact The Section Chief of Headache Medicine will provide strategic leadership for the section’s clinical operations, research initiatives, and educational mission. This role offers the opportunity to build upon a strong foundation while defining the future of headache care, scholarship, and training at Dartmouth Health. The Section Chief will lead a multidisciplinary team of physicians and advanced practice providers delivering state-of-the-art, patient-centered care. The section includes a UCNS-accredited Headache Medicine fellowship program, offering the Section Chief a meaningful platform to train and mentor the next generation of headache specialists while advancing innovative clinical and research programs. A Collaborative, Mission-Driven Leadership Team The Section Chief serves as the physician leader of the Headache Medicine leadership team, working closely with the Practice Manager and Nurse Manager to guide the overall direction and performance of the section. Together, this team ensures alignment with the Department of Neurology, Dartmouth Health, and the Geisel School of Medicine and fosters a culture grounded in shared purpose, mutual respect, and psychological safety. This role offers a balance of clinical practice, administrative leadership, and academic engagement, tailored to the experience and interests of the successful candidate. Requirements

  • UCNS certification in Headache Medicine
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in New Hampshire and Vermont
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in academic leadership, program development, and faculty mentorship
  • A commitment to inclusive leadership and team-based care
  • Qualify for the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the Geisel School of Medicine
  • Be board-certified in either Neurology, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine by the ABPN, ABIM, or AOA
