Friends of the Children—Los Angeles is seeking a passionate and dedicated Program Manager to lead the East L.A. County program. This role involves supervising Professional Mentors, facilitating resource navigation, and supporting youth and families in the community. The Program Manager will work closely with the Program Director to ensure high-quality mentoring and drive the growth of the program, aiming to break the cycle of generational poverty through effective mentorship.

  • Supervise, inspire, develop, and evaluate efforts of Professional Mentors (Friends).
  • Serve as a role model and mentor for Friends, ensuring they have the necessary resources to perform their jobs.
  • Meet with supervised Friends monthly to review Roadmaps and Transition Plans for each child.
  • Manage the performance of supervised Friends, including conducting performance appraisals with the Program Director.
  • Lead and facilitate effective weekly team meetings focused on child and Friend successes and challenges.
  • Review and assess data for accurate reporting and tracking, identifying trends and making recommendations for program modifications.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and Family Engagement Director in planning and training.
  • Collect, record, and administer participant assessments and data for outcomes progress and grant reporting.
  • Maintain organized records and provide timely case notes in the Efforts to Outcomes database.
  • Help identify resources and establish partnerships to enhance the program and services to youth and families.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • At least two years of practical program management experience in public social services or similar human services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in supervising others in a team setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Experience with Social Solutions software (ETO).
