About The Position

The Program Manager plays a pivotal role in the implementation and operational management of the Street Medicine Access Residency Training Initiative (SMARTI). Under the supervision of the Project Director, the Program Manager ensures that the program's strategic vision is translated into effective, on-the-ground action. This position requires a deep understanding of public health principles, the unique challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness, and best practices in instructional methods and educational technology. The Program Manager also serves on Centralus Health's Center for Health Equity Transformation's Core Team. In this capacity, the Program Manager will apply change management tools and systems-thinking practices to improve policies, practices, training, and continuing education. These improvements will ensure that our health system thrives as a leader in equity transformation with positive impacts for staff, patients, and the community at large.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in public health, health equity, health administration, community health, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health equity, health administration, community health, social work, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and operate standard office equipment, including computers and telephones.
  • Ability to move about the workspace and attend meetings across multiple facilities, both on-site and virtually, as needed to perform essential duties.
  • Ability to occasionally move or lift materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in typical office conditions, with occasional exposure to varied temperatures when traveling between sites or departments.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Develop curriculum and supporting materials in designated topics in collaboration with relevant stakeholders (e.g., via curriculum review committee). Review and compile relevant research articles, professional recommendations, books, and other educational materials in key topics to support learning.
  • Content Delivery: Develop procedures for the effective implementation of curriculum. Apply best practices in instructional methods and educational technology to planning new trainings and enhancing existing trainings.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Establish effective evaluation measures to assess learning outcomes and progress over time. Develop procedures for the effective evaluation of curriculum.
  • Policy Assessment & Update: Engage in systemwide inquiry related to the structural and organizational culture barriers to health equity transformation within the health system. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders on annual health system policy equity assessment and update.
  • Partnership Development: Strengthen health system partnerships and cross department connections to support collective accountability in health system equity transformation.
  • Capacity-Building: Increase tools, support, and continuing education for entire health system to build staff and leader capacity and actions for equity. Provide support and training for faculty and other instructional staff in new content or technology.
  • Reporting: Produce and submit all necessary reporting to HRSA and health system leadership.
