About The Position

The Center for Center for Childhood Safety & Injury Prevention Manager develops, implements, and coordinates the Children's Mercy programs for childhood safety and accidental injury prevention. The Manager serves as a clinical resource for the education and consultation needs of patients, families, clinical staff, volunteers, and the community related to safety and injury prevention in childhood. The Manager evaluates and improves safety and unintentional injury prevention program resources and services to reduce the number of children injured due to preventable injuries measurably. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required and 3-5 years experience 5 years experience or
  • Master's Degree preferred Master's Degree and 3-5 years of Safety or injury prevention experience would be acceptable in lieu of an RN degree.
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provide Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty Certification relevant to unit’s patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred Upon Hire
  • Previous Grant administration experience highly preferred
  • Previous Public Health experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional leadership, oversight, and management of the clinical, programmatic, scholarly, and educational activates of the CCS IVP program to accomplish the strategic goals and objectives of the organization, CCS department, and the community.
  • Serves as a clinical expert in intentional and unintentional injury in children; acting as a resource to staff, volunteers, and the community related to intentional and unintentional injury in children.
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates evidence-based programing for intentional and unintentional injury in children to assure its quality and effectiveness both in the hospital and in the community
