Job Summary The Program Manager leads the execution of complex Advanced Electrical Services (AES) switchgear programs, driving results from order entry through commissioning and project closeout. This role provides hands-on leadership to a high-performing project management team, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and aligned with customer and business expectations. The leader brings deep technical understanding of paralleling switchgear systems and applies that expertise to guide cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and field operations. Acting as the primary escalation point, this role owns financial, commercial, contractual, and technical outcomes while proactively managing risk. Success requires a customer-focused mindset, strong people leadership, and the ability to translate strategy into disciplined execution.

Requirements

  • Budgeting: Extensive experience and knowledge of organization's budget process; ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget. Uses organization's preferred budgeting software tools. Compares planned budgets vs. actual expenditures, identifies, reports, and explains variances. Works with business managers to create appropriate budget amounts. Participates in developing budget adjustment procedures and practices. Develops and manages large and important budgets. Evaluates past business decisions and associated budgetary considerations and impact.
  • Conflict Management: Extensive experience and knowledge of managing conflicts; ability to anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level. Mediates and resolves conflicts among individuals, groups, and departments. Practices positive collaboration and converts difficult interactions into productive ones. Guides participants in a conflict to rethink their current views. Demonstrates good judgment in deciding when to involve a third party. Makes parties aware of case studies of constructive and destructive conflicts. Surfaces disagreements in early stages.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive experience and knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Differentiates assumptions, perspectives, and historical frameworks. Evaluates past decisions for insights to improve decision-making process. Assesses and validates decision options and points and predicts their potential impact. Advises others in analyzing and synthesizing relevant data and assessing alternatives. Uses effective decision-making approaches such as consultative, command, or consensus. Ensures that assumptions and received wisdom are objectively analyzed in decisions.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Extensive experience and knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation. Clarifies and handles multiple concurrent and diverse activities. Shifts focus among several efforts as required by changing priorities. Addresses potential conflicts that impact current delivery commitments. Works with or leads others to re-prioritize work and reschedule commitments as necessary.   • Resource Management: Extensive experience and knowledge of the resources required to achieve business objectives; ability to plan, mobilize and distribute resources to fulfill business objectives and plans. Specifies the critical resource needs required to accomplish organizational objectives. Applies specific metrics to analyze and revise resource requirements. Updates resource requirements by identifying and responding to changing needs. Ensures adequate, qualified resources are available, commensurate with the size and complexity of activities; mobilizes resources needed to get things done. Develops methods for maximizing resource utilization (re-engineering, outsourcing, automation, etc.). Negotiates with key stakeholders to obtain required resources.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in project or program management
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and organize work to drive disciplined execution across complex initiatives
  • Demonstrated strength in mediation, negotiation, and stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to structure and lead complex project execution across multiple disciplines
  • Experience leading teams in environments with strong technical, commercial, and customer-facing components

Responsibilities

  • Lead, hire, develop, and manage the AES Project Management team, setting clear priorities and providing ongoing coaching and mentorship
  • Own the overall program governance for AES projects, including standards, tools, execution rigor, and continuous improvement of project management practices
  • Direct and oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of large, complex switchgear and AES projects from order entry through commissioning and closeout
  • Provide escalation leadership for financial, commercial, contractual, and technical risks, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with business objectives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, test, logistics, and field service teams to drive integrated project execution
  • Apply advanced project management tools and processes, including project chartering, network diagrams, schedule compression, and integration planning
  • Partner with customers and dealers to implement disciplined project management practices and clarify roles, responsibilities, and execution expectations
  • Manage commercial aspects of AES projects while supporting technical direction across internal and external project teams
