About The Position

The Academic Program Manager plays an integral role in the development, implementation, and management of academic programs within the Artificial Intelligence Interdisciplinary Institute at Maryland (AIM). This position will work closely with the Program Director, Academic Program Operations, Associate Director for Education, and various cross-campus stakeholders to develop non-degree undergraduate and graduate educational programs within AIM. The Academic Program Manager will also assist in the development of the AIM Education Office and serve as a mentor to professional academic advisors and supervise student employees within AIM:Ed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of academic program development, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a passion for advancing AI education.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Three (3) years of professional program management or higher education experience.
Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
Knowledge of business acumen to understand key business drivers, organizational communications, and data.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
Ability to develop and administer new policies and procedures.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
