Job Summary: Works with hospitals eligible for the 340B program to ensure compliance with all aspects of the 340B Program as defined by the Office of Pharmacy Affairs as well as those defined in the System 340B policies. Assists facilities in maximizing appropriate purchasing and replenishment of medications under the 340B program. Helps manage the contract pharmacy program, facilitating relationships between the organization, the contract pharmacy management vendor and the hospital contract pharmacy partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Seven+ years' related 340B experience: Required
  • Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist license: Required
  • APEXUS Advanced 340B Operations Certificate: Required
  • State Pharmacy Technician (PTC) or Registered Pharmacist (RPH): Required
  • 340B University Certification (340B): Required

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree: Preferred
  • Hospital pharmacy experience: Preferred
  • Leadership experience: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains 340B-related policies and procedures to ensure they are compliant with 340B guidance and are implemented at the eligible markets.
  • Responsible for oversight of the market 340B Analyst governance group responsible for standardization of day-to-day 340B operations.
  • Develops and maintains system-wide 340B education programs to ensure 340B eligible market associates meet the education requirements required as defines in System 340B policies.
  • Prepares and assists in the monitoring and various tracking and reporting measurements to ensure compliance with the program. Such reports to include 340B drug utilization, program savings, program compliance, and exceptions or discrepancies.
  • Routinely audits 340B product pricing and compares it to the APEXUS Prime Vendor pricing to identify potential alternative products and additional savings. Reports pricing discrepancies to the pharmacy wholesaler for correction and rebill processing.
  • Assists facilities in maintaining Charged Device Model (CDM) to National Drug Code (NDC) crosswalks to ensure appropriate purchasing and replenishment of medications.
  • Works with the contracted split billing vendor to maximize program compliance and appropriate product purchasing.
  • Works with contracted contract pharmacy vendor maximize program compliance and facilitate growth of the program.
  • Conducts internal audits for 340B program compliance and uses the information to identify gaps in program performance. Assists in development of action plans to resolve identified issues.
  • Provides reporting on 340B metrics.
  • Provides educational materials to pharmacy services staff regarding on-going compliance and appropriate product purchasing.
  • Maintains responsibility for 340B program effectiveness which includes identifying program improvement opportunities, as well as, solutions/recommendations for improvement of the programs.
  • Participates in projects, programs and special initiatives related to 340B.
  • Coordinates all external audits. Works directly with the markets to prepare and submit all required information. Reviews all audit results and assists the markets to develop and implement necessary plans of correction.
