About The Position

The Construction Program Management Manager at AECOM in Boston, MA, is responsible for overseeing program-related activities, providing technical leadership, and ensuring the successful delivery of programs. This role involves advocating for ethical practices, supporting innovation in program management, and contributing to talent development strategies. The manager will also be accountable for the financial success of the program management agreements.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • 15 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on the education sector and/or large scale publicly funded projects in Massachusetts.
  • Proven experience as a 'seller-doer,' with the ability to generate business and deliver projects successfully.
  • Deep knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) and other relevant tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee program related activities for smaller programs or a defined part of a larger program, in support of the overall Program Manager.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery at the program level or for elements of a program.
  • Advocate for ethical and safe working practices.
  • Support innovation in program management approaches and methodology to achieve marketplace differentiation.
  • Identify areas of high risk and proactively take actions to positively impact program outcomes.
  • Contribute to the global learning and people development strategy for program management, including identification of talent gaps and resourcing plans.
  • Assess long-term and disruptive trends in their area of expertise.
  • Propose skill development approaches and workforce planning to deliver capabilities for the future.
  • Actively support the attraction and retention of talent across area of expertise.
  • Accountable for overall financial success and delivery of AECOM Program Management agreement.
