About The Position

The Chronic Disease Prevention - Program Instructor II assists in planning and delivering Chronic Disease Prevention (CDP) programs, supporting participant engagement and helping individuals achieve their physical health and well-being goals through YMCA CDP initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age required.
• A high school diploma, or equivalent, with 1-2 years’ experience leading/ facilitating classes and working with special populations is required.
• Knowledge of basic health and wellness principles and exercises, as well as healthy living behaviors.
• Must have exceptional communication and organizational skills to support participants and maintain required documentation.
• Ability to verbally provide clear, concise directions and visually inspect classroom for safety.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of program participants.
• Completion of all position specific and mandatory YMCA training within specific training deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of form and technique of strength training exercises and function of cardio equipment preferred.
