Brief Job Description: Under the direct supervision of the Manager of the Chronic Disease Epidemiology (CDE) branch, performs evaluation activities for chronic disease prevention and health promotion interventions including but not limited to the Tobacco Control and Prevention and the Alzheimer's Disease Programs. Oversees and provides technical assistance and evaluation consultative services to community chronic disease intervention partners. Responsible for monitoring community intervention projects and for developing evaluation and monitoring tools, summary reports on findings, and other related analyses and reports. Works with CDE staff and across the Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention (HPCDP) Section to identify appropriate evaluation methods and resolve evaluation-related problems, recommend changes, oversee identification and development of new data sources, and collect and analyze data to inform programmatic improvement activities. Works with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
