About The Position

The Program Director leads MHA’s GRIT Park co-occurring substance use and mental health residential program for 22 adult women. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of a safe, trauma-informed, and gender-responsive home-like environment, ensuring resident safety, engagement in treatment plans, and participation in daily living activities. The Program Director provides staff supervision and support, fosters a positive program culture, and ensures compliance with MHA and state standards, while promoting recovery, relapse prevention, and overall resident well-being.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, acceptable driving record, and sufficient insurance.
  • Residential management experience is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with individuals with psychiatric disabilities, trauma, substance use and behavioral challenges.
  • Strong assessment and planning skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, caring and compassion.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centered care and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, recommend, and implement operational practices, policies, and procedures to achieve positive program outcomes.
  • Foster a safe, affirming, and gender-responsive program culture in partnership with the Leadership Team.
  • Participate in hiring, training, and ongoing staff development, ensuring compliance with required training and emergency drills.
  • Provide guidance, support, and consultation to direct care staff and facilitate effective communication across roles and departments.
  • Supervise program staff, including Program Supervisor, Admin, Van Driver, Care Coordinators, and Medication Specialist, monitoring performance and completing evaluations.
  • Partner with the Leadership Team to conduct monthly chart and utilization audits and ensure program compliance.
  • Oversee administrative tasks including timesheets, PTO planning, staff documentation, and program records required by fiscal, HR, and human rights standards.
  • Manage program budget and monitor financial resources for effective operations.
  • Address internal incidents, human rights complaints, investigations, and program grievances promptly and appropriately.
  • Actively participate in program licensing, accreditation processes, and professional development initiatives, representing the agency in community and statewide activities.
  • Promote and integrate the agency’s mission, values, philosophy, and principles throughout program operations and staff interactions.
