About The Position

Location: Pocahontas, VA. Pocahontas State Correctional Center operates a 4- month long Fentanyl Response Program providing substance use disorder services to males identified for treatment. Pocahontas State Correctional Center is a level 3 security facility with a capacity of 1,034 inmates. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm with a 1-hour unpaid meal break. Pay rate: $72,000-$75,000 annually The Program Director is responsible for: Providing overall leadership and management on all contractual components, personnel, financial management, clinical programming, and all related areas. Administering direct supervision of the Clinical and Program staff. Ensuring all scheduled group programming and other activities occur according to the program schedule. Supervising all personnel management functions for the programs including hiring, orientation, training, development of personnel, teambuilding and disciplinary issues. Overseeing the accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensuring all are submitted to the VA DOC and Spectrum leadership within established timeframes. Continuously evaluating the program to ensure the fidelity of the treatment model is maintained by all personnel and routinely assessing competency of staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Education or closely related field required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience is required.
  • Corrections experience or experience directing treatment services within a secure environment is required.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • State Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is preferred.
