About The Position

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Permanent Housing, the Program Director, Tenant 360 provides supervisory and programmatic oversight to the Aging Services management team and Tenant Services Supervisors within Breaking Ground’s portfolio of permanent, supportive, and affordable housing across New York City. The growing portfolio comprises 15 buildings and serves more than 3,400 tenants. The Program Director is responsible for overseeing teams that deliver socialization, recreation, and supportive programming designed to promote housing retention and foster community development for tenants. In addition, the Program Director manages Aging Services, which provides solutions-focused case management and resource navigation for older adults, including benefits application and navigation, housing retention services, information and referral, and community integration programming. The Program Director ensures Aging Services programming is aligned with the specific needs and interests of the senior population. The Program Director may supervise social work interns and, depending on program needs, may carry a small caseload of more complex clients. This role collaborates closely with internal departments and external partners to ensure effective program delivery and alignment with organizational goals. This position requires occasional evening and weekends availability.

Requirements

  • LMSW or LCSW strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with older adults and/or populations who have experienced homelessness
  • Minimum of 3 years of case management experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience and strong clinical and assessment skills required
  • Proficiency in solutions-focused interventions and motivational interviewing preferred
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and travel throughout New York City as required
  • Valid NY, NJ, or CT driver’s license with a good driving record, as defined by Breaking Ground is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) required
  • Bilingual skills preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and administration of programs and activities across Breaking Ground’s building portfolio, with a target of 800+ sessions annually
  • Collaborate with Property Management and building-based social service providers to identify building-specific needs, address service gaps, and enhance programming
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and oversight to Aging Services management and Tenant Services Supervisors
  • Support the expansion of aging and tenant services to new buildings, including supervision of additional staff and service level growth in existing buildings
  • Develop and oversee program workflows to support housing stability, community integration, and overall programmatic goals
  • Manage caseload assignments, conduct case reviews, and ensure appropriate service delivery
  • Partner with the External Affairs department to coordinate and plan volunteer opportunities across the portfolio
  • Assist with standardization of data collection, analysis, and reporting to support continuous quality improvement and meet funder requirements
  • Travel across buildings to support program delivery and event logistics, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
