About The Position

The Program Director is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the Recovery Center. This role ensures the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centered, and recovery‑oriented services that align with organizational goals, contract requirements, and best practices in peer support, harm reduction, and trauma‑informed care. The Program Director provides supervision to staff, oversees program development and implementation, manages reporting requirements, and fosters a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in behavioral health, recovery services, peer support, or a related field
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) required; OASAS CASAC certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of recovery-oriented systems of care and federal, state, and local regulations impacting recovery centers and behavioral health programs.
  • Proven experience with advocacy, outreach, engagement, transitional supports, and services for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor policies and procedures, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines independently.
  • Experience working with diverse populations across racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds; commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and Saturdays if needed.
