About The Position
Responsible for providing direct and indirect services to clients and families.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in liberal arts or related field and two years experience within the mental health field preferred.
- Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
- Will maintain yearly in-service training.
- All Program Counselors employed on the inpatient psychiatric unit (3-6) must become and maintain certification as a PMCS (Preventing, Managing Crisis Situations) trainer.
- A valid NYS drivers license is required
Responsibilities
- Provides direct client services including case management, group counseling, skills training, ADLs and transportation.
- Assists with orientation and supervision of Resident Counselors.
- Monitor/audit all documentation and medication procedures.
