About The Position

The Program Coordinator (A) coordinates day-to-day operations of the program. Moreover, the incumbent assists the Program Manager with the development, organization, production, and evaluation of the program to achieve its mission, goals, and objectives. An employee in this position demonstrates familiarity with University policies and procedures and ensures program compliance. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Acts as a liaison to program constituents. Works closely with students to continuously evaluate their learning experience and improve quality and value of the program. Acts as an advisor for students in the program to help connect students with research and creative experiences across campus. Assists with maintaining a database of faculty willing take students in research and creative projects across the university. Works with undergraduate students through the office to implement programming that enhances the offices mission. Serves as a liaison to student government on behalf of the office. Assist with the preparation and/or delivery of program content. Facilitates collaboration between different schools, community agencies, and/or academic support units throughout the University. Coordinates the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data. Drafts comprehensive, statistical, and/or narrative program reports and evaluations, and monitors program effectiveness, making suggestions for revisions when appropriate. Coordinates the scheduling of program components. Drafts and initiates correspondence, develops agendas, maintains calendars, assists in accumulation of reference materials, and coordinates and attends committee meetings. Assists with the development and implementation of program marketing and social media. Provides assistance and support for participants and/or program constituents in all administrative aspects of the program and maintains files and/or program data. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Exceptional writing skills, including knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules are essential.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs, events simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with best practices in mentorship
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).

  • Design and implement student-facing programming, including workshops, research programs, and educational events.
  • Oversee the implementation of UGR events such as the RCIF.
  • Oversee student and faculty engagement in undergraduate research initiatives through the research matching platform.
  • Maintain and optimize student–faculty mentor placement and program databases, ensuring accuracy. and accessibility for reporting and decision-making.
  • Provide programmatic support and resources to student participants in grant-funded programs.
  • Advise students on defining research interests, securing faculty mentors, and applying for internal and external research opportunities and funding.
  • Create programming that enhances the UGR office mission.
  • Represent UGR at major university events (Preview the U, First-Year Fellow Resource Fair, South Florida Family Day, etc…) and deliver informational sessions to faculty, student groups, and campus partners.
  • Manage student social media, newsletter and website.
  • Delegate tasks to work study students that support programming, communications, and office operations
  • Collaborate with peer mentors to develop and implement student-focused programs
  • Gather and maintain records and data for reporting to university and external stakeholders
  • Support in all other areas as needed
