About The Position

Project FIND’s Older Adult Centers are dedicated sites that provide a variety of meals, activities, and services to people over the age of 60 that help individuals navigate the challenges of aging by encouraging community engagement and healthy living. Today Project FIND operates four older adult centers (OAC’s) with over 3,000 members, and three supportive housing residences that are home to about 600 people. Our members and residents range from the healthy and active to the frail and homebound to the homeless. For all these men and women, Project FIND is a critical resource, providing programs, meals, and housing. A part of Project FIND’s mission to provide low and moderate income and homeless seniors with the services and support they need to enrich their lives and live independently. Job Summary: The Program Coordinator for Hamilton OAC will work with the Senior Program Director to plan, establish, and facilitate engaging programs for center members. Also, the individual will assist with administrative duties within the site, including meal distribution, data entry associated with program offerings, information and referral documentation, and congregate meal services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, and 1+ years of program planning or relative experience.
  • Experience working with older adults, including knowledge of the aging process and familiarity developing activities to stimulate this population.
  • Experience developing programs and leading activities/groups for adults, including mental health and wellness focused activities.
  • Excellent presentation, writing, and record-keeping skills.
  • Must be able to coordinate and multi-task.
  • Must be computer literate and willing to learn and use evolving program-specific software.
  • Ability to communicate in both spoken and written English

Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct engaging and innovative OAC activity programs that meet NYC Aging annual program deliverables.
  • Monitor program participation rates and perform ongoing outreach to ensure high rates of member engagement.
  • Prepare activity calendars, promotional flyers, and information materials.
  • Assist to prepare monthly statistics for submission to our fiscal team.
  • Assist to identify, establish, and maintain community partnerships/linkages.
  • Assist to supervise program consultants and volunteers.
  • Ensure accurate completion of activity sign- in sheets, logs, consent forms, and surveys.
  • Input program data into organizational database systems, including NYC Aging’s VIVE database.
  • Maintain membership contact lists and assist with participant registration/re-registration process.
  • Assist with collection, calculation, and documentation of program contributions.
  • Attend community, agency, and staff meetings as needed and required.
  • Provide site coverage at Project FIND other OACs when needed.
  • Perform other related tasks as requested or assigned.
