About The Position

As a part of University College, Work+ ensures student employment is an integrated working and learning experience that contributes to working learners' career growth. By providing comprehensive supervisor support, a thorough evaluation and assessment strategy, and fostering a vibrant community around work and learning, student jobs are modified into transformative learning experiences. This role will support efforts tied to both the scaling of Work+ to all 8,000+ student employees at ASU, as well as The Work+ Collective (a national initiative engaging multiple universities as they redesign their student employment experiences). Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director-Work-integrated Learning Initiatives, the Program Coordinator will help coordinate activities and functions to ensure that specified goals and objectives are met. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years experience in a communications, student-facing program coordination or community management role in Higher Education or online service sectors.
  • Ability to develop creative, engaging, and original digital content, with experience using social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram), content creation tools (e.g., Canva), and basic digital marketing strategies.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Skill in organizing work of self and others.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring, or providing guidance to professional staff and/or student employees.
  • Experience working in LMS systems such as Canvas.
  • Proficient in the full suite of applications in Google Workspace and project management and communication platforms (such as Slack and Monday.com).

Responsibilities

  • Maintains regular communication with students, faculty, staff, and outside/community agencies in facilitating department objectives.
  • Design, plan and implement activities, events, and content to drive regular engagement with working learners and supervisors.
  • Manages the development and implementation of learning assets for the Work+ framework in partnership with key departments across campus (such as Student Employment, Career Services, etc).
  • Design and implement communication campaigns to promote Work+, recruit supervisors and department leadership participants and energize the community as a whole.
  • Supports the university-wide Career Readiness Inventory and serves as university liaison with related vendors.
  • Supervises the Work+ student employee team including recruiting and hiring for open roles, managing day-to-day tasks, evaluating performance, and serve as mentor utilizing the Work+ framework.
  • Creates, facilitates and analyzes supervisor feedback sessions every semester to ensure program growth, engagement, and satisfaction.
  • Leverage monthly newsletters, websites and other specialized platforms (Canvas, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Slack) to execute communication campaigns.
  • Onboard department supervisors; includes delivering training sessions, consulting on best practices, and assisting with resource and tool implementation within departments.
  • Lead and deliver signature events, with support from the Work+ team (professional development workshops, signature events, etc).
  • Tracks and maintains participation and completion data for all engagement.
  • Analyze and utilize this data to design and deliver targeted outreach to encourage ongoing participation and completion.
  • Participate in and help plan co-design activities to refine initiatives over time.
  • Participate and support events, pilots, and initiatives as part of the larger Work+Learn team in University College.
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
