About The Position

Venture Dynamics is seeking an experienced Hot Work Coordinator to support Navy and commercial ship repair operations. This role is dedicated exclusively to coordinating, reviewing, and executing hot work authorization processes in accordance with contract requirements, shipyard procedures, and Navy safety standards. The Hot Work Coordinator serves as the central coordination point between repair activities, supervision, and ship representatives to ensure hot work is authorized, scheduled, and executed safely and without conflict.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience serving as a Hot Work Coordinator in a shipyard, maritime, or heavy industrial environment
  • Strong working knowledge of shipyard hot work authorization processes and Navy safety requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple hot work authorizations concurrently in an active repair environment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required base or facility access credentials, including DBIDS
  • Completion of all required safety training, including firewatch training
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening per customer requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Navy ship repair availabilities
  • Familiarity with Fire Safety Council (FSC) processes and deviation adjudication
  • OSHA 10 Maritime certification

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the designated Hot Work Coordinator whose sole function is to manage hot work notification and execution for assigned repair activities
  • Receive, review, and coordinate all hot work authorization forms submitted by requesting activities
  • Verify that each hot work authorization form is properly completed prior to processing
  • Complete required tracking documentation for each approved hot work authorization and sign after verifying with the Hot Work Supervisor that hot work is ready to commence and has ended
  • Conduct daily coordination meetings with designated repair activity representatives, ship representatives, and shipyard supervision to identify and eliminate hot work conflicts
  • Advise supervision of hot work issues that could impact repair activity work, ship operations, or production schedules
  • Ensure revisions to hot work authorization forms are processed and approved prior to continuation of affected work
  • Submit approved hot work authorization forms to the designated ship representative responsible for maintaining required records
  • Prioritize hot work authorization execution each shift based on the integrated production schedule
  • Participate in Fire Safety Council (FSC) meetings as required to support deviation requests and adjudication
