About The Position

Savannah River National Laboratory's (SRNL) Science, Energy, Innovation (SEI) directorate is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Program Coordinator who will focus on project coordination and execution for various DOE Office of Science and Energy programs. SRNL is a multi-program laboratory applying state of the art science and practical, high-value, cost-effective solutions to complex technical problems to protect the nation. Located at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS), the laboratory develops and deploys innovative technologies to address some of the nation’s environmental, energy, and national security challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in fields of project management, international affairs, security studies, national security studies, or related field.
  • For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
  • At least 7 years of experience successfully performing project coordination duties with technical engineering or scientific projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, ability to successfully interact with DOE, project reviewers, project staff members and senior laboratory management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing diverse, high performing teams.

  • Prior experience in supporting DOE programs
  • Project Management Professional (or equivalent) certification
  • DOE National Laboratory experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain multiple project SharePoint sites.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining multiple project schedules in Microsoft project.
  • Manage various ongoing projects and coordinate all team members to keep workflow on track.
  • Manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current and properly tracked.
  • Communicate with sponsors to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Assist Program Manager maintaining multiple budgets by tracking monthly labor and commitments.
  • Tracking tasks, action items, and due dates to ensure time is allocated to complete tasks and address rapidly evolving needs.
  • Assisting, planning, and execution of hosting visitors and sponsors at the laboratory and on the Savannah River Site.
  • Interface with SRNL leadership, federal oversight resources, and other sites in the DOE complex.
  • Proactively manage a dynamic, high-volume, fast-changing calendar, exercising sound judgment to prioritize tasks, anticipate potential scheduling conflicts, and ensure seamless coordination and time management.
