About The Position

The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Global Futures Impact Scholars and the Student Council Sustainability Officers programs in support of the Rob Walton College of Global Futures by leading and developing student-centered programming opportunities for both college and high school students. This role facilitates programming, coordinates events, and collaborates with faculty, staff and community partners to enhance engagement, outreach, and access to Global Futures academic and career pathways.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and one (1) year of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in global futures-related topics of planetary health.
  • Experience mentoring at the high school, community college, or university level.
  • Evidence of effective organization, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience in working effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and community partners.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of or involvement in the Global Futures Laboratory's initiatives.
  • Evidence of a track record of successful project management, particularly in an academic or educational setting.
  • Experience in event planning and management.

Responsibilities

  • Global Futures Impact Scholars (GFIS): Facilitate the welcome of new Impact Scholars and provide a comprehensive orientation to the College of Global Futures, including faculty, staff, students and programs.
  • Actively engage students in building a supportive community through social events and activities.
  • Assist students in developing proposals for their GFIS experience, including the conceptualization of ideas and formulation of actionable plans.
  • Evaluate GFIS funding applications, develop evaluation criteria, and assist in the disbursement of funds.
  • Develop partnerships and mentor networks and connect scholars to meaningful projects aligned with their interests and goals.
  • Support the teaching and delivery of GFIS coursework.
  • Advise GFIS students on program requirements.
  • Assist in the recruitment, evaluation, and retention of the program efforts in collaboration with other Global Futures staff.
  • Student Council Sustainability Officers (SCSO): Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to deliver effective sustainability programming.
  • Plan and support events, workshops and outreach activities connected to the SCSO program.
  • Support logistics, communications and assessment for programs and events.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Rob Walton College of Global Futures and participating high schools.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with schools and community partners.
  • Assist in the expansion of the SCSO program by recruiting additional high schools.
