The North Carolina Public Staff - Utilities Commission is currently accepting applications for the Program Coordinator IV-Wake County. The primary purpose of this coordinator position is for timely review and development of recommendations for assigned telecom filings, water and sewer resale (i.e., WR and WRN) filings, as well as analytical review of highly variable HHG audits and negotiating satisfactory settlements in HHG claims. The position is also responsible for necessary preparation of recommendations with regards to the Commission’s regulation of local exchange companies (ILECs), competing local providers (CLPs), interexchange long distance carriers (IXCs), payphone service providers (PSPs), and shared tenant services providers (STS), and maintaining multiple database and files across the multiple sections. The Program Coordinator IV in the Transportation and Telephone section of the Public Staff's Water, Sewer, Transportation & Telephone Division is a high-level administrative position in a specialized and multi-section regulatory environment concerning acquisition, extension, or curtailment of telecommunications/water/sewer public utility services and the implementation of policies, as well as providing regulatory oversight of household goods (HHG) carriers, privately-owned ferry operators, and regular route bus services. Division responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Review of utility companies’ proposals for changes in rates and service. • Utilities response to federal and state regulations. • Preparation of recommendations the North Carolina Utilities Commission (NCUC) on reviewing HHG claims and audits, and providing qualified guidance on suitable practices within the regulatory scope. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including health insurance, as well as retirement.
