About The Position

The purpose of the Program Coordinator I is to perform a variety of duties relative to investigation, conciliation, and disposition of Fair Housing discrimination complaints in the state of South Carolina based upon the South Carolina Fair Housing and Human affairs law.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
  • Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application will be required to bring a copy of college transcript to the interview. A copy of the transcript may also be uploaded as an attachment to the application, if required by the hiring department or if desired by the applicant. Please note that some areas of the Agency may require an official, certified copy of the transcript prior to hiring or within a specific timeframe required by that area, after hiring. Failure to produce an official, certified transcript may result in not being hired or termination.

Responsibilities

  • Timely performance of all duties relative to the intake, processing, and/or disposition of all allegations of unlawful discrimination in Fair Housing cases. Investigator will determine justification of cases in intake.
  • The employee will perfect Fair Housing complaints based on questionnaires, conversations, and other forms of communication. The employee will ensure all of the complainant's allegations were addressed and get it out for signature. The employee will coordinate with the administrative staff to assign cases and make sure all documents and communications that were obtained through intake are uploaded in HEMS.
  • Occasionally upon request, provides advice and assistance to employers to ensure compliance with relevant laws and help with duties relative to investigation, processing and/or disposition of all complaints.
  • The employee will conduct Fair Housing Outreach and participate in trainings, workshops and meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.
