About The Position

The Program Coordinator for the Women in Science and Math Academic Residential Community (WiSM ARC) plays a central role in cultivating a supportive and academically engaging living-learning environment for students interested in science, math, and related fields. Reporting to the ARRI unit and in partnership with the Faculty Director, the Program Coordinator leads cocurricular programming, supports community cohesion, and manages the operational aspects of the WiSM ARC. The coordinator is responsible for recruitment and admissions efforts, event planning and implementation, student outreach and communications, and collaboration with Residence Life, academic partners, and University Housing. This position also manages student enrollment processes and co-facilitates various aspects of the ARC seminar and related programming. As a student-facing role, the Program Coordinator provides inclusive support to ARC students and represents the community across campus partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of experience planning and coordinating programs or events in a higher education, student services, or community-based setting.
  • One year of experience performing administrative responsibilities including planning, organizing, evaluating, and managing multiple projects and activities simultaneously.
  • Experience working with college students or adolescents in a mentorship, advising, or programming capacity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with public speaking.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, student-centered environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in education, student affairs, natural sciences, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience with financial management and report building
  • Experience supporting students who are pursuing academic paths in science or math disciplines.
  • Familiarity with university systems such as StarRez, Navigate, or other student information systems.
  • Experience managing program budgets and coordinating with faculty and campus stakeholders.
