The Program Controls Manager at AECOM is responsible for overseeing program controls-related activities for medium-sized programs or specific control elements of larger programs. This role involves coordinating efforts across multiple projects, managing interdependencies, and ensuring alignment with program objectives. The manager will work closely with project managers and senior leadership to optimize resource allocation, monitor risk mitigation strategies, and maintain effective communication among project teams and stakeholders.

  • Assumes oversight of program controls-related activities for medium-sized programs or specialized defined controls elements of larger programs.
  • Spearheads coordination efforts across multiple projects within the program, ensuring strict alignment with overarching program objectives.
  • Identifies and addresses interdependencies between projects, proactively mitigating risks and resolving conflicts to maintain program integrity.
  • Engages in strategic collaboration with project managers to ensure optimal resource allocation and utilization.
  • Maintains close working relationships with senior leadership to define and refine program-level objectives with precision.
  • Provides authoritative guidance and rigorous oversight to project controls teams, ensuring effective management of individual project elements.
  • Conducts thorough monitoring and evaluation of risk mitigation strategies to ensure their efficacy and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Facilitates clear, concise, and timely communication between project teams and stakeholders to maintain program cohesion.
  • Delivers comprehensive and regular updates to senior leadership on program progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • BA/BS in Project Management, Engineering, or Business plus 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Masters degree in Project Management, Engineering, or Business (preferred).
  • 12 years of related experience (preferred).
  • Experience with large transportation, water, and aviation infrastructure.
  • Experience in integration of controls - scope, cost, schedule, risk reporting.
  • Experience in PowerBI report tailoring for program specific needs.
