About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Program Control Specialist to oversee and manage financial performance across multiple government contracts. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring program budgets, tracking expenditures, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. You will collaborate with program managers, finance directors, and internal teams to provide accurate reporting, support decision-making, and maintain fiscal accountability. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, part-time environment. You will contribute directly to program success by providing insight into funding, costs, and forecasts, enabling smooth operations across diverse government programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or 7 years of equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Jamis Prime or similar accounting software.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense or federal government contracts.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR, CAS, DCMA/DCAA regulations, and basic estimating methodologies.
  • Ability to support program control activities across various contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for spreadsheet creation and analysis.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including program managers, finance directors, and billing teams.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, part-time environment (average 25 hours per week, EST time zone).

  • Experience with DCAA-approved labor pricing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and review contract funding and financial data within ERP systems.
  • Analyze financial reports and create supporting spreadsheets for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial and program status reports.
  • Review invoices and compile financial findings for program managers and leadership teams.
  • Support subcontractor management, including funding tracking and invoice reconciliation.
  • Prepare and maintain Estimates to Complete (ETC) and Estimates at Completion (EAC).
  • Perform spend planning, burn rate analysis, budgeting, and cost monitoring.
  • Manage travel and Other Direct Cost (ODC) expenses.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide ad hoc support as required.
  • Assist with bi-annual program reviews, pricing activities, and timekeeping/expense administration.
