This Program Control Analyst position will interface with the program managers, functional management, and our business managers to provide financial and administrative support and analysis to meet program requirements.

Requirements

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field is typically required.
  • Experience : Relevant experience in travel administration, payroll, accounting, financial analysis, or government contracting is essential.
  • Experience with government travel programs and systems (like DTS) is a strong asset for roles in the defense industry.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in financial software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, N-ERP) and travel management software (e.g., Concur) is important.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) are often desired.
  • Soft Skills : Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities are crucial.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Forecasting and Cost Control : Prepare and monitor monthly forecast for revenue and margin.
  • Control costs and schedules to ensure all costs stay within budget on multiple contracts, which includes developing and maintaining spend plans, accurate tracking of expenditures, preparing estimate at completion (EAC) analysis and other variance analyses on various contract types.
  • Travel Program Administration : Manage the day-to-day operations of the travel program, which can involve managing travel authorizations, reviewing and processing travel vouchers, and maintaining employee profiles within travel management systems (e.g., Defense Travel System (DTS) in the government sector or Concur in the commercial sector).
  • Compliance and Auditing : Ensure that all travel activities and expenses adhere to internal policies, government travel regulations (i.e. FAR/DFARS), and audit standards (e.g., Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) standards).
  • Data Analysis and Reporting : Analyze travel data and trends to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve efficiency, and inform decision-making. This involves generating various financial and performance reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement : Document existing processes and procedures, recommend improvements, and assist with implementing new systems or automation to enhance the travel management process.
  • Collaboration : Ability to collaborate with program managers, finance/accounting departments, vendors (travel management companies, airlines, hotels), and government points of contact to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
