About The Position

AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a Programs Claims Director to lead a team of Program Claim Managers overseeing TPAs handling Workers’ Comp program claims nationwide. This role is responsible for technical claim oversight, TPA performance management, and staff development, with a focus on coverage, liability, reserving, litigation strategy, and settlement of complex Workers’ Compensation claims across multiple jurisdictions. This position will require hybrid attendance in one of our AmTrust locations and is posted remotely for nationwide visibility.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of Workers’ Compensation coverage, liability, and claims handling.
  • Prior experience managing TPAs and leading claims professionals.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Adjuster’s license in multiple jurisdictions (or ability to obtain).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (10+ years).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Program Claims Managers providing oversight of TPAs handling Workers’ Compensation program claims.
  • Oversee escalated Workers’ Comp claims, including coverage analysis, reserving, litigation management, negotiation, and settlement strategy.
  • Ensure TPA claim handling meets AmTrust quality, regulatory, and performance standards.
  • Approve reserves and settlements above authority levels and escalate as needed.
  • Conduct quality audits, manage corrective actions, and drive continuous process improvement.
  • Support TPA due diligence, onboarding, program vetting, and coverage form review.
  • Manage personnel administration, training, and development of the claims team.
