JOB SUMMARY The Program Associate will provide direct support to the directors of both the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Legislative Caucus (GLLC) and the Midwestern Radioactive Materials Transportation Project (MRMTP) to ensure efficient workflow and successful outcomes for both efforts.

Requirements

  • Technical proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, WordPress, Constant Contact, Zoom, JotForm, and Survey Monkey
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate activities to meet schedules and timelines
  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Dedication to public service with an unfailing commitment to act with civility, remain nonpartisan in performing CSG duties, and function as a responsible steward of member and donor funds.
  • Time management and the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel as needed, including several trips a year
  • Professional work ethic and strong interpersonal skills, including self-awareness, sensitivity, and valuing others
  • Ability to work remotely with access to reliable Wi-Fi

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of, or experience with, state and/or federal government processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor news sources and report on relevant stories; draft and disseminate both the GLLC newsletter and the MRMTP News Blasts via Constant Contact
  • Monitor relevant policy developments at state, federal, and international levels related to the interests and objectives of the GLLC and MRMTP and maintain legislative trackers
  • Maintain the websites for both projects including updating event pages, posting meeting materials, updating committee rosters, etc.
  • Administer and consolidate reimbursement requests from committee members and other paperwork as assigned
  • Operate as Zoom Host for project webinars and run webinar logistics
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations as needed
  • Schedule and assist during virtual meetings
  • Help prepare meeting materials, agendas, guides, meeting notes.
