About The Position

Primary Purpose: Assist the Coordinator and/or Manager of Adult Education in the implementation of adult education programs. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Certificate or license in appropriate field preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: General knowledge of computer systems and software applications Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) Ability to interpret policy, procedures and data Experience: Three years area specific experience Major Responsibilities and Duties: Assist in the identification and preparation of sites for adult education classes. Help to organize student registration, assessment and class assignments. Comply with federal, state and local guidelines for implementation of adult education services, including registration, attendance and assessments. Regularly monitor, observe, and supervise teachers and support staff providing appropriate feedback. Monitor student performance on state assessments and other program objectives, and take appropriate steps to correct student performance problems when necessary. Work with staff to provide a positive adult learning environment and assist in resolving issues of student discipline and student complaints. Assist in processing accurate and timely payroll records. Administer and score mandated state assessments according to the State Assessment Policy and local guidelines. Comply with state and local guidelines for certification in administration and scoring of standardized assessments. Assist in recruitment of teachers and staff and participates in the hiring process. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
