About The Position

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all‑inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Enter voter information in statewide system. Assists County Clerk in programming and testing memory packs for all municipalities. Prepares election materials for municipal clerks for each election. Balances cash drawer, deposits marriage license and DNR money to County Treasurer. Scans and indexes documents. Compiles and prepares information for the Fond du LacCounty Directory of Public Officials. Keep a list of all Directories sent and payments received. Assists with sorting payroll checks. Prepares County Board packets for delivery. Serves as back up for mileage and per diem work. Assists Program Assistant II with filming, processing and duplicating documents for other county departments. Copies financial reports, budgets, forms, books, cards and pads and documents this for recordkeeping. Assists with operating mail machine for outgoing mail and sorts incoming mail. Assists general public by working at the counter and answering the telephone. Counter work includes filling out marriage licenses, issuing DNR licenses, settling dog license accounts with municipal treasurers and selling county directories. Ability to operate and maintain photocopy, mail and film processing machines. Ability to operate a computer with Word, Excel and Outlook. Must be able to keep accurate records. State training for election certification is required for this position. Some evening hours will be required with this position. Must interact in a responsible and effective manner with other departments, local officials and the general public. In evaluating candidates for this position, the County may consider a combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate and maintain photocopy, mail and film processing machines.
  • Ability to operate a computer with Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to keep accurate records.
  • State training for election certification is required for this position.
  • Some evening hours will be required with this position.
  • Must interact in a responsible and effective manner with other departments, local officials and the general public.
  • Graduation from high school
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of general office experience
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience using a variety of photocopy and mail equipment.
