About The Position

The Peters Township Public Library is seeking a qualified individual for the full-time position of Program & Outreach Coordinator. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping creative, educational, and engaging library programs for adults of all ages. This position will: Lead the development and implementation of library programs for adult audiences, both virtual and in-person Develop partnerships and outreach opportunities with external organizations and groups Represent the library at community events Collaborate closely with the Adult Services team to develop initiatives that support the library’s mission and strategic plan Work collaboratively with other library and Township departments Serve as committee chair for Read Local Eat Local, the library’s annual local author event Create and monitor the adult summer reading challenge through the Beanstack platform Keep accurate program statistics for reporting use Gather community feedback and analyze data to improve services and set goals Supervise Adult Services volunteers Provide reference desk coverage as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for working with the public
  • Past experience of creating, planning, and implementing public programs is required
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team, willingness to assist and support coworkers, contribute ideas, and maintain flexibility
  • PA State Police criminal history check, PA Child Abuse clearances, FBI fingerprints

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with Master’s Degree in Library Science strongly preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of current and emerging library trends is preferred

Responsibilities
