About The Position

AKIVA is seeking a Program Analyst to execute data-related project tasks under the direction of the Program Manager at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System. The Program Analyst provides leadership and management of basic projects, ensures quality performance by the project team, and works with spreadsheet and relational databases to organize data. The role delivers graphic design support including organizational charts, training materials, and visual aids, and communicates highly technical information to senior management, the user community, and less experienced staff. AKIVA-provided AI-assisted data analysis and visualization tools will be leveraged to accelerate trend identification, chart production, and strategic reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in data analytics and a minimum of 1 year of project management experience
  • Knowledge of data mining and data warehouse processes, data modeling, R or SAS, SQL, statistical analysis, database management, and reporting
  • Knowledge of computer-aided design programs such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or equivalent
  • Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) such as ArcGIS
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and executive audiences
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Prior VA or federal healthcare data experience
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted analytics and automation tools

Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly Space Management Team (SMT) meetings and participate in working groups with Hospital Services
  • Conduct database research of VA databases for information on patient projections; collaborate with VALB Informatics
  • Provide data analytics support — analyze data, identify trends, and build supporting products
  • Translate space requirements into project plans: turn space and facility requirements into a list of projects to complete over the next 15 years
  • Provide support to Space Management site surveys covering function, purpose, and ownership of spaces across the VALB campus
  • Assist the Space Management Team in planning and executing space moves driven by renovations, construction, or user requests
  • Develop deliverables, organizational charts, training materials, and other visual aids for varying audiences
  • Examine large data sets to identify trends, develop charts, and create visual presentations that help VALB leadership make strategic decisions
  • Review assessments and recommendations in accordance with federal regulations and standards and verify compliance
  • Leverage AKIVA AI-assisted tools for accelerated data analysis, reporting, and visualization workflows
