PROGRAM AIDE (Hierholzer Teen Center)
About The Position
The Program Aide supports various programs as assigned, working to stimulate interest and participation among members in areas such as reading, math, nutrition, and fitness. This role involves helping to maintain classroom materials and fitness equipment, assisting instructors, coordinators, classroom teachers, or fitness directors, and mobilizing members to attend or participate in programs. A key aspect is maintaining discipline and adherence to Boys & Girls Clubs rules, fostering a positive atmosphere for members to achieve long-term academic and social goals, and assisting with data collection and tabulation. The ultimate goal is to ensure a safe and fun environment for members to learn and grow.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of core program areas including academic success, education and career, and health and physical education.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with others.
- High level of energy, endurance, and patience.
- Comfortable working with different personalities in an informal environment.
- Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.
- Ability to always model appropriate behaviors.
- Ability to address and de-escalate crisis.
- Skills essential for successful communication including speaking and writing.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working with children helpful.
Responsibilities
