Here is What’s on Your Horizon Faculty/School: School of English and Liberal Studies Program/ Courses: General Education Economics courses that provide students with essential economics literacy and a strong foundation in both microeconomics and macroeconomics principles. Campus: Newnham Campus We welcome applications for part-time teaching opportunities. Course assignments are based on scheduling and instructional needs. Contract faculty typically teach up to 6 hours per week, with classes scheduled Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm. Requirements

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Economics (or related quantitative fields such as finance with strong micro/macro coursework).
  • Minimum 1 year of post-secondary teaching experience.
  • Practical experience applying economic reasoning, such as analyzing markets, economic indicators, policy impacts, trade issues, or financial/economic data.
  • Strong expertise in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and foundational economic theory.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and classroom facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to teach effectively across multiple delivery formats (e.g., in-person, hybrid, and online).
  • Commitment to inclusive, equitable, and student-centered teaching practices.
  • Proven ability to contribute positively to a collaborative and solutions-focused team environment, including constructive problem-solving and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure student awareness of course objectives, approach, and evaluation techniques.
  • Carry out regularly scheduled instruction, which may include tutoring and academic counselling of students.
  • Provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources, work experience and field trips.
  • Evaluate student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the student's work within assigned courses.
