The University of San Diego School of Law invites applications from entry-level and lateral candidates for a full-time (11 months/year) non-tenure track position. We seek applications from candidates with scholarly or practice distinction or promise and a commitment to excellence in teaching. The Tax Law Program is a multi-faceted comprehensive program serving both Juris Doctorate (J.D). and Master in Taxation degree (Tax LL.M.) students. Since its establishment in 1978, over one thousand LL.M. degrees have been awarded to tax attorneys across the globe. The program offers a wide array of doctrinal tax classes, open to both J.D. and LL.M. students. The clinical tax offerings are among the largest in the country and are also open to both sets of students. The Program prepares both JD and LL.M students to enter practice, as well as providing JD students with the foundation to pursue an LL.M. An online Tax LLM program will be launched in the fall semester of 2025. Applicants should have substantial legal practice experience, primarily in tax law, and strong experience or interest in mentoring JD and Tax LLM students. This position will require the successful candidate to teach and operate the Tax Law Program.
