Florida SouthWestern State College is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position in Humanities to join our team of exceptional faculty. Qualified applicants in philosophy with interdisciplinary graduate coursework in the humanities are encouraged to apply. As an open-enrollment institution with four campuses in the Gulf Coast area and a gallery bearing Robert Rauschenberg's name, we are seeking dynamic, knowledgeable candidates committed to teaching and to fostering a community of intellectual engagement, ethically minded inquiry, and creative exploration. The successful candidate in the Humanities position will have teaching responsibilities encompassing general education introductory survey courses in the humanities, as well as introductory courses organized around special humanities topics. Candidates should demonstrate mastery of humanities content from across the ages within the Western tradition, must have transdisciplinary training, and must be able to guide students in beginning college composition. Any area of research specialization is acceptable, but candidates must be passionate about teaching in a general education curriculum for non-majors. The course load is 5/5. The School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences supports all degree and certificate programs of study offered at Florida SouthWestern State College.
