After orientation: Flexible shift options based on departmental needs Self-scheduling model for better work-life balance Limited weekend surgical schedule A tight-knit, team-centered environment where everyone has your back About Our OR: 24 OR suites serving a wide variety of surgical specialties: Neuro, Cardiac, Ortho, Vascular, Urology, Plastics, Thoracic, Robotics, and more Strong oncology patient focus 60+ surgical cases daily — no two days are ever the same! What You’ll Do: Deliver compassionate, patient-focused care in a Relationship-Based Care model Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses to ensure the best patient outcomes Apply advanced clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in a surgical setting Participate in patient goal-setting and care planning Document and communicate care effectively to the surgical team Build meaningful relationships with patients, families, and colleagues Perform scrub role duties Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the nursing career ladder, based on their individual experience and education.

Requirements

  • Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process.
  • Mobility and visual manual dexterity.
  • Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients.
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Fit Testing Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of nursing experience STRONGLY preferred.
  • Operating room experience is preferred but not required.
  • UPMC approved national certification preferred.
